Ron Paul Update

Gotta hand it to the man for tenacity and commitment:

Where is the Intelligence in Intelligent Design

It's mystifying what runs through the minds of creationists and proponents of quackery known as "creation science" - If all life comes from the Divine Hand of Gawd, then how can we explain such disparate things that run the gamut, from invasive weeds and nuisance species, to disease - Avian Influenza, HIV/AIDS, or even simpler things which replicate, even though they are just wrinkled little protein constructs - prions, which brought us BSE (Mad Cow) and all of its relatives...

For the poor creationists, either it was A.) God's Will or B.) somewhere in a lab some "intelligent" evil scheming scientist has been devising these things...

Or, perhaps science is correct, and the world and its species are in a continual species of flux...

Politics of Division

The biggest infuriation that the conservative commentators seem to have with McCain is that he dares to blur the lines between "us" and "them". He reaches across the aisle. How DARE he?

Divisive politics at work...

Did they not understand "an ever more perfect UNION"?

Chicken Doves

Surrounded on all sides by punks... Good article in Rolling Stone, just another display of how we, the American People, get screwed no matter which way we vote...

Romney Punks Out!

Wow... wonder what wheeling and dealing's going on in the background... and still he wants to stick it to the remaining candidates by keeping his delegates (won MA cause of his name recognition as Gov and UT thanks to his fellow Mormons) locked up. Buying an election wouldn't cut it.

Just as well, evangelicals aren't going to vote for him anyways...

Taking his ball and going home... though I'm sure we'll see him again...

Screw the poor...

An unnamed conservative dipstick said something about Hillary luring folks in with the usual liberal schpiel about a life of ease through subsidies (suggestions of welfare? Oh, my...). Hah... Just more of the same ingrained mantras...

True, throughout the '80s (gee, who was president then?) welfare had been spiraling into a culture of entitlement, but was substantially reformed in 1996, when President Bill Clinton signed the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 into law, to take people off of the welfare rolls.

There have been years and years that have elapsed where the Republicans have had every opportunity to remedy Welfare and SSI abuses, but they have instead demonstrated a complete lack of will. The only recent event even remotely qualifying as an attempt at reform has come at the hands of a Democrat. The irony. How can so-called conservatives still respect themselves?

Leon Trotzky Strikes Back

I was laughing my butt off listening to ole Rush earlier today... complaining about how he's being forced out of the party, and about a 'Trotzkyesque' cleansing of the GOP. Funny thing is, Rush, Hannity, Coulter and the rest have been drinking their own bathwater for so long that they actually think THEY are the core, the heart and soul, of the Republican Party.

Au contraire, mon frere... they are on the fringe, always were.

Waterboarding Legal

News tidbits everywhere, buzzing about legality / illegality of waterboarding... http://voanews.com/english/2008-02-06-voa75.cfm

Sure, c'mon say it's legal, we dare ya. There's a few numbskulls out there who could stand to be picked up and waterboarded just for the heck of it...

Super Tuesday: Nuthin' Damn Changed

Red State Update:

"Nuthin' damn changed, waste a damn time..."

Bush Budget Blasted

US News & World Report is now reducing Bush and his budget plans to "paper tiger" status: http://www.usnews.com/articles/news/national/2008/02/05/why-bushs-budget-doesnt-matter.html

Notably, they cite instances of a push from the left for climate change and the environment...

Duck. Lame... Quack, quack!

Ron Paul takes 21% of NoDak, 25% of Montana

This news will surely be buried under the fold in the Lifestyles section, page G-8. Though not meaningful in terms of delegates or serious opportunity for Paul to get a nomination, it's still a piercing needle right in the rear of the "real" candidates. Heh!

Bend over!

Funny to watch the cynical commentary going on...

Party Pooper

I just love how Rush Limbaugh and the rest of the Republican "pundits" are feverishly raking the bottom of the Rolaids bottle with their tongues for that last antacid... Complete heartburn over John McCain surging to the front in the GOP race. Even more amusing to see them reduced to having to decide which Democrat to vote for - as Ann Coulter recently did, publicly endorsing Hillary Clinton...
Funny for how many Republicans claim they're not voting for McCain, he's getting an awful lot of votes. Reminds me of that old Yogi Berra-ism, "nobody goes there anymore, it got too crowded".
Huh?

Moderately Furious? What the hell?

...Is that like, "Jumbo Shrimp"? "Military Intelligence"? Holy oxymoron, batman...

If you have "friends" on the left, with whom you spar, and "friends" on the right, with whom you spar, then what the hell does that make you? A moderate? Somehow I think not. More like an angry out-of-the-box thinker...
